Johannesburg: Midfielder Stefano Sturaro netted a late equalizer to help Juventus settle with a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in the first leg of the last -16 Champions League tie.
Bayern dominated most of the first -half, with forward Thomas Muller putting his side ahead in the 43rd minute of the match.
Mid-fielder Arjen Robben doubled the Germans’ lead by scoring a goal in the 55th minute, Sport24 reported.
Although Juventus had a great chance to open his side’s account in the opening minute when striker Mario Mandzukic ran to fire a speculative shot towards a goal post.
It was in the 63rd minute when forward Paulo Dybala smacked a goal against Bayern before substitute Sturaro came up with an equalizer just six minutes later to rescue Juventus from a defeat.
The two sides will now play their second leg of the last-16 on March 17. (ANI)
