Students worried due to non-implementation of fee reimbursement scheme

Hyderabad: After finalizing admissions of professional courses, original certificates of the students are retained by the managements of the colleges.

In case, the students do not pay the fees to the colleges, the college authorities refuse to give back the original certificates to them.

Since delay is being caused in the implementation of fee reimbursement scheme, it is causing a lot of inconvenience to the students of professional colleges as they are not getting back the original degree certificates which are required for getting jobs or continuing further education.

It may be mentioned that government has not been able to clear the arrears of fee reimbursement since 2013-14. The officials of Council for Higher Education opine that holding the certificates by the college managements due to non-payment of fees is illegal. If they do so, action could be taken against them.

On the other hand, the managements of the colleges say that many students remain defaulters of non-payment of fees which is causing financial loss to the college managements.
