The city police on Tuesday claimed that they have foiled a plot of murder of two persons including Saleem Chowdhary a local politician from Karnataka, and police arrested four people.
The accused are identified as Mohd Khuddus (24) a final year engineering student, Nyamath (26) a computer operator from Masab Tank, Fareed (25) an auto driver from Hassannagar and Abdul Kareem alias Don, a history sheeter of Kalapather police station. Two others – Amer and Shaaker are on run.
According to police there was a property dispute between the family of the prime accused Khuddus and his stepmother Zainab Begum. His father, Late M. A. Razaak had two wives and Khuddus is the son of the first wife Zareena Begum. “Chowdhary mediated between both the parties in the past and settled property issue,” Mr. Satyanarayana said.
A year ago, Khuddus took some loan from Chowdhary and kept documents pertaining to a property with him. “Chowdhary was collecting the rent from the shops on the property for last few months and was not allowing Khuddus to sell the property,” he said.
“Having failed to get payment, Khuddus contacted Kareem through his friends and paid Rs. 9 lakh to get Chowdhary killed. Acting on a tip off, the police arrested the accused, and seized two daggers, four cell phones and Rs. 2.5 lakh cash from them.
