Students permitted to write NCC exams

The High court of Karnataka directed the Karnataka battalion of the National Cadet Corps ( NCC ) to allow seven Muslim students to write their C- certificate examination here on February 18.

Seven students of Al-Ameen College had filed a petition against the Karnataka battalion for not allowing them to write the examination because they had not shaved off their beards, which they claim to be against their religious belief.

The petitioners were writing C-certificate examination of the NCC, Army wing at RC College on February 23 and 24, 2013, when they were sent out of the examination hall by a senior rank officer for not shaving off their beards.

The petition was disposed by Justice Ananada Byrareddy after the authority concerned submitted their consent to allow the students to write the exams.Courtesy:Karnataka Muslims
