Students need not to worry, Deemed varsities to be back in matrix

According to KEA Director R Rame Gowda, the seats of many colleges, which also includes deemed universities, missing in the Karnataka Examinations Authority’s (KEA) seat matrix for under graduate professional courses, will be uploaded and added to the seat pool before June 20.

On June 14, the KEA threw open the process of option entry for seats. Students can enter their choices for seats until June 20. But, it was found that seats of several colleges were missing from the list.

Some colleges said they had already given the information on available seats in their institutions to the Higher Education department although it was not added to the seat list.

Rame Gowda, on Monday said he has apprised the Higher Education department officials of the situation and the KEA will get the list of missing seats by June 20.

Students would not have to be concerned about missing out on these seats as they would be given an opportunity to re-enter their options.

The KEA has planned to conduct mock allotment on June 21. Students can modify their options, if they so wish, after taking a look at the seats which they can reach with the rank they have scored in the CET.

During that time, students will be able to include the newly added seats as part of their favored list of seat choices.

According to sources in the KEA, officials had asked the Higher Education department to update the information, asking them why some seats were not updated even if colleges had handed over the matrix to them.

On June 22 and 23, students will be given a chance to change their options and on June 25, the KEA will declare the real allotment list for the first round of counseling. Deadline to report to colleges is June 30.
