Students escape unhurt after fire in bus

New Delhi: A fire erupted in a bus carrying 35 school students in outer Delhi’s Nangloi area but timely action from passers-by saved the occupants from the blaze.

The fire started at around 1.10 PM today when the bus was at the Nangloi flyover, a senior police officer said.

The vehicle was carrying 35 students of the Government Girls’ Senior Secondary School in Nangloi.

With smoke billowing out of the bus, passers-by safely rescued the students and informed the Delhi Fire Services and police.

A fire tender was also rushed to the spot.

No casualty or injury was reported, the police officer said.
