New Delhi, March 25: A group of students and activists today marched to Parliament demanding an immediate moratorium on all running nuclear programmes and a clear announcement on abandoning new nuclear power plants in India.
The protest organised by Anti-Nuclear Struggles’ Solidarity Forum saw the participation of students from Delhi University, Jamia Millia and JNU besides anti-nuclear activists like Praful Bidwai.
The demands of the protestors also included stringent and independent review of all existing facilities including reactors, mines, processing and reprocessing plants and tranfer of huge subsidies going to nuclear establishments.
