Alleging that the lands acquired by the APIIC during previous Congress government in the united AP were grossly misused, Telangana Downtrodden Sections Students JAC leaders took to the road on Friday demanding that the present TRS government take over those “misused” lands.
Alleging that those who got lands for setting up of industries were doing lucrative business with them, two activists of the JAC climbed atop a towering hoarding in front of Koti Women’s College and staged a protest. The protestors refused to come down from the hoarding demanding that the State government initiate immediate action in recovering those “misused” lands by greedy realtors.
The police, who plunged into action, vainly tried to convince the protestors for seven hours to come down. However, the agitators yielded to the appeal of the Deputy Chief Minister and came down. With this, the police personnel and the local people heaved a sigh of relief. (NSS)
