Students arrested while taking unauthorised exams

Gulbarga (Ktk), June 23: 25 students of Gulbarga University, including 20 from UP, were arrested when they were allegedly found taking exams at a private college here without the knowledge of the University officials, police said today.

The Indira Gandhi Memorial B.Ed College here had arranged 40 of its students, who had abstained from the regular exams conducted earlier, to write the examinations last night without the knowledge of the University under which it falls, after collecting money, Superintendent of Police Padmanayana told reporters here today.

Among those arrested during the search, 20 students from Uttar Pradesh, one from Madhya Pradesh and four locals. Others managed to escape. Exams were originally conducted by the university on June 18, 19 and 22.

The college authorities had allowed the students to write the examinations against the university rules and also provided answers to them.

Police also seized Rs 1.
