Rajhmundary, November 15: All India Unaided Medical Colleges and Private Universities Association chairman Ganni Bhaskar Rao has said students of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir need not appear for the National EligibilitycumEntrance Test for medical admissions as per Article 371D of the Indian Constitution.
Rao said in the Supreme Court’s judgement given on June 22, 1984 in Pradeep versus GOI case, students of the two states are exempted from the test by default.
“Students of the two states need not appear for NEET as per the verdict of the Apex Court given on November 8, 2011, in the case of Dr Dinesh Kumar versus Motilal Nehru Medical College and others,” Rao said.
