Kanpur, September 28: A day after a class VI student died allegedly after being raped in her school, police today took into custody 11 staff members, including the principal of the private institution which has been sealed.
According to DIG Prem Prakash, Bharatiya Gyan Sthali School has been sealed. Though no arrests have been made so far, the lady principal, a class teacher and nine other staff members of the institution are being questioned in connection with the alleged rape of the 12-year-old girl.
The manager of the school and some other members are absconding after the incident and efforts were on to trace them, he said.
The girl’s mother, who works in a mall, had yesterday received a call from the school that her daughter had been sent to home along with two women staff as she was not well.
