The worrying incident occurred at Arapahoe High School in Centennial in Colorado at 10.30 am local time.
Sheriff Grayson Robinson said the gunman “identified a specific teacher at Arapahoe High School that he was interested in confronting, and that teacher was informed of the situation and exited the school quickly.”
“The suspect in the shooting is dead from what appears to have been a self-inflicted gunshot wound, he said.
Authorities have contacted his family, the Sherriff said without revealing his identity.
