Student kidnapped for ransom

Muzaffarnagar, April 16: A class XII student was allegedly kidnapped for ransom while he had gone to attend tuition classes in Shamli town in the district, police said today.

Sajay had gone to attend tuition classes last evening but did not return home till late night, they said.

Later, student’s father Manoj Goel, a trader by profession, received a ransom call demanding Rs 50,000 following which he approached the police, they said.

Angry traders blocked the Delhi-Saharanpur Highway protesting against the incident.

Efforts are on to nab the culprits, police said.
