An engineering student committed suicide by jumping from the building of JNTU hostel, Kukatpally in the early hours of Sunday. 21-year-old Balakirshna R/O of Jannat Nagar, Moosapet was reportedly suffering from depression due to his poor academic performance. Earlier the university had detained him for one year. He was distraught over this.
Notwithstanding Balakrishna’s lack of interest in studies his parents had forcefully sent him to college hostel along with other students. Police told that the deceased often remained upset and he took the extreme step and at 4 am on Sunday he jumped from the terrace of the two-storied hostel building. He was declared brought dead at a nearby hospital.
A case was registered under section 174 (suspicious death) of the CRPC and the body was shifted for post-mortem.
