Student found hanging in Navodaya Vidhylaya

Jodhpur: An 11th standard student of Navodaya Vidhylaya in Tilwasni village near here was found hanging from a tree today.

When teachers of the school were out for a morning walk, they found Jasraj Suthar (17) hanging from the tree beside the boundary wall of the campus, SHO, Bilara, Ghewar Singh said.

He was rushed to the Primary Health Centre of the village but was declared brought dead, he said.

Suthar, who was putting in the hostel of the school, left his room late last night and did not return. Other students were preparing for the on-going exams and did not take notice of his not returning to the hostel, Singh said.

He said a case has been registered and postmortem report was awaited to arrive at the cause of the death.

There was no apparent cause of the suicide as there was no suicide note by Suthar or any stress or tussle with any staff or student has come to the notice, Singh said.

“We have, however, initiated investigation into the matter and would not spare even if the school administration was found to be at fault,” he added.
