Mau, January 11: A student was crushed by a truck in Saray Lakhansi area of this Uttar Pradesh district today.
Superintendent of Police V B Singh said Jawahar Maurya, a student of standard VIII hailing from Budhave village, was going to the school when a truck crushed him to death. Two others were injured in the mishap.
Irate over this incident, villagers blocked the Ballia-Mau Highway near Adri crossing for hours. Police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.
Body has been sent for the post-mortem.
