Student barred from classes for ‘abnormal’ behaviour

Burdwan (WB), March 19: An inquiry has been ordered after school authorities allegedly asked a depressed boy not to attend classes due to his “rude and uncivilised” behaviour.

Sub-Divisional Officer of the district Tanmayi Dutta said a team of officials were sent on Wednesday to inquire into the allegations on the basis of a complaint lodged by Chandrani Sau, mother of Rishiraj Sau, a class three student of Model school.

The school principal, Kabita Sikdar, said that Rishiraj’s mother was asked not to send her son to the school from April last year as his teachers objected to his using abusive language.

Rishiraj was admitted to the school in 2008 and was found to behave “differently” with classmates and teachers within a few months of his admission, the school teachers had told the principal.
