Kolkata, July 23: An Delhi-based MCA student has been arrested for allegedly replicating the website of Railway Recruitment Board and was sent to police custody till August three by a local court today. Suprakash Singh was arrested yesterday from the national capital and brought to Kolkata on transit remand, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detective Department), Jawed Shamim, said.
The official website was www.rrbkolkata.
org but the accused allegedly created another website with the address www.railwayrecruitmentboard.
com. “We found the user domain from the service provider and came to know it was in the name of R K Gupta of Basant Kunj in New Delhi which was fake.
After that we traced the internet protocol and got our man,” Shamim said. The Additional Chief Magistrate of Karkadooma Adalat today remanded him to police custody till August 3.
“After we interrogate him, we will be able to know the details of his operation,” the officer said. He said Singh in ”Contact Us” section gave his own mobile number.
“So it is definite that he was up to something.” Railway Recruitment Board chairman D K Srivastava had lodged a complaint in February this year at the Ultadanga police station that the official website was being replicated.
