Strive for justice to IIT selected students: SC accepts petition

On the issue of 4.5 percent reservations in educational institutions, Supreme Court advocate Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Syed and his son Syed Ahmed Saud have decided to strive for justice to IIT selected students. A petition has been filed in Supreme Court which has been accepted for hearing. The advocates who filed petition by the 8 students, stated that cancelling of reservations provided by the educational institutions is sheer injustice.

Talking to Siasat from New Delhi Mr. Syed Ahmed Saud said that had central government been serious it would not have faced defeat in Andhra Pradesh High Court and then in Supreme Court. The government of Andhra Pradesh failed to prove in the AP high Court and Supreme Court that it has provided reservations to minorities not on the basis of religion but on the basis of social backwardness.

He told that the supreme court has agreed for hearing of the petition filed against the ruling which refused to give stay order on High Court verdict.
