Striking Junior Doctors will not be eligible to write examination next year

The officials of the Dept. of Medical and Health have started taking stern action against the junior doctors who are continuing their strike demanding withdrawal of the condition of serving rural areas compulsorily for one year which has been imposed by the State Govt. recently. NTR Health University will conduct university examinations in March 2015 for which 75% attendance is compulsory for MBBS students and 80% for PG student. Junior Doctors lost the attendance of 35 days during their strike period. In this way they may lose one year.

Dr. B. Srinivas, Director of Medical Education told that it is his duty to inform the parents of the Junior Doctors which he fulfilled. The Govt. of Telangana has decided to dismiss 50 PG students belonging to other State. Private students are being sent to their institutions. PG Medicos who were posted in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts to attend emergency services during October are being recalled.

Junior Doctors are playing the clip of the statement made by Mr. Chandrasekhara Rao in 2012 in which he had termed the condition of compulsory Rural service for Junior Doctors wrong. After assuming power Mr. KCR deviated from his statement. There are reports that junior doctors of A.P. also went on strike in Vijaywada putting black badges on their uniforms. They gheraoed the office of the principal in Vijaywada. The Treasurer of Junior Doctors’ Association, Dr. Naresh told that the junior doctors are not against the compulsory rural services but they want the Govt. to make permanent appointments of the doctors. Dr. Naresh further told that the further course of action of the agitation of junior doctors will be decided after the judgment of the High Court. A meeting of the doctors of Sidharth Medical College was held in Vijaywada yesterday to consider these issues.
