Strict vigil on the use of money, wine, gifts and advertisement: Police Commissioner

(Siasat News) Mr. Anurag Sharma, IPS, Commissioner of police of Hyderabad issued instructions in view of the ensuing general elections to keep strict vigil on the use of money, wine, gifts and advertisement. He has issued guidelines to regulate statements, speeches and advertisement material. He told that for all the advertisement, it is compulsory to take permission from the police. Mr. Sharma further told that any violation of the guidelines will not be tolerated. He informed that model code of conduct for elections has been declared. Any attempt by any party to disrupt communal harmony will not tolerated. Strict vigil is being maintained on anti-social elements and criminal persons. All those persons who were involved in unpleasant activities and their role was suspicious, are being watched closely. He requested the license holders of the arms to deposit their arms in the nearest police station. For every assembly constituency, a flying squad and a control room is being setup.

Sensitive areas will receive special attention. Any material which is derogatory or dangerous for peace will not be allowed to be displayed. For every Assembly constituency, three surveillance teams have been constituted which will include a magistrate and 3-4 police men. These teams will review the transportation of wine and other objectionable material. They will also seized unaccounted money, weapons, gifts and other articles. All the public meeting, rallies and other functions will be videographed. For every meeting prior permission should be obtained from DCP of the concern zone. If the program continues for more than one day, permission should be obtained from Addl. Commissioner of Police (Law and order). For erecting cutouts, flex and other hoardings on public places, Municipal permission is also essential. For erecting flags also permission should be obtained from GHMC. More than 10 vehicles will not be allowed to be parked at one place. If the program organizers are inviting a major leader, it should be compulsory for them to take prior permission from the police.

The commissioner of police also told that permission will not be given to use loudspeakers after 10pm. He informed that yesterday Rs.7.5 lakh have been seized in the east zone. He hoped that adequate arrangements have been made by the police for the next elections.
