Mr. Shabbeer Ahmed, MLC met C.M. of A.P. Mr. N.Kiran Kumar Reddy and stressed the need for making a wide publicity of the welfare schemes pertaining to Minorities. He apprised the C.M. of his observations and experiences about his tour of various districts. He told that the awareness of these welfare schemes is confined only to Urban Areas and hence the Minorities living rural areas do not know anything about these schemes. This is the reason for non-utilization of budget allotted for Minorities Welfare schemes. The persons living in rural areas are not only ignorant of Minorities schemes but they donot know anything other schemes of the Govt.
C.M. agreed all his proposals and ensured that he would discuss this matter after the Panchayat Raj elections are over. Mr. Shabbeer Ahmed pointed out that although the Govt. has enhanced the budget of Minorities Welfare Dept., it has to provide sufficient to the Dept. for the effective utilization of the amounts allocated in the budget.
