Hyderabad, December 29 (INN): Andhra Pradesh government has approved a new health policy to strengthen the health care system in the state.
Under the New Health Policy, Camp Office Counters will be opened at Tirupati, Warangal, Kakinada, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada apart from the existing Hyderabad Counter.
Health camps will be held by the Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in each district at the rate of 30 camps per month and the doctors will be given incentive. Each PHC will get a financial support of Rs 6,000, according to an official release here on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister, who chaired the Arogyasri Trust Board meet, instructed the Trust to work out the possibility for constructing additional buildings for 104 Call centre in Trust Premises. He also asked the Board members to increase the treatment percentage from 22 to 40, the release said.
He also agreed for the creation of Research Corpus of Rs.30 crores.
The Chief Minister was told that 1, 233 lakh BPL families were covered, 12.7 lakh surgeries were pre-authorised and Rs.3482 crores was spent under this scheme by and 354 hospitals including Government hospitals were empanelled and 938 therapies were offered by November 30, the release said.
Dr DL Ravindra Reddy, Minister for Medical and Health, Special Chief Secretary Sudhir, Principal Secretary, K R Kishore, N Srikanth, CEO of the Trust, Dharma Rakshak, Director, NIMS and other senior officials attended the meeting. (INN)
