In a pathetic incident in Gandhi hospital, two stray dogs mauled an inpatient on Friday. The gory incident exposed the inefficiency of the hospital management and security staff.
The victim was identified as Gopi, who was injured in a road accident and admitted to the hospital. But the stray dogs, roaming freely in the hospital premises, attacked the patient causing grievous injuries. It is learnt that the hospital staff earlier shifted the patient from Emergency ward to a shed located nearby on Thursday. Two dogs intruded in the unprotected shed and pounced on him injuring him grievously as he was not able to move from his bed. He was again shifted to the Emergency ward after other patients informed the hospital staff about the incident.
Following the incident, officials of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation swung into action to curb stray dog menace on the hospital premises. (NSS)
