On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked politicians to abstain from making insensitive comments about assaults on women, and urged them to “stop psychoanalyzing rapes” and has asked that women be respected.
Speaking in the Lok Sabha today, the Prime Minister appealed to political leaders not to carry out psychological analysis or rape. He after that emphasized that respect to women and their security should be the topmost priority of the entire population of India.
“Does it suit us to make comments on such incidents, can we not be quiet? We are playing with the dignity of women,” Modi said in his parliamentary address on Wednesday.
Together with the incidents of rape, Mr. Modi also made a reference to the incidents that had taken in Pune, where a techie had been killed, and also in Manali, where a group of students had been sweep away in the Beas River. He expressed grief at whatever had happened, and added that our conscience would not forgive us.
