Stop propaganda on Pranahitha-Chevella project: Harish tells Oppn

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today said the TRS government has taken up redesigning of irrigation projects for the sake of welfare of farmers.

           

Responding to questions raised by the Members in the Council here on Sunday, Harish Rao urged the Opposition parties to stop spreading false propaganda on Pranahitha-Chevella project. He also alleged that previous Congress government had taken up Pranahitha-Chevella project without proper thinking. The Congress, which ruled the State for 10 years, failed to enter into any agreement with the Maharshtra government on projects, he said and alleged that the Congress leaders had miserably failed to convince the Maharshtra government on Pranahitha project to construct it with 152- metre height.

Harish Rao said the Telangana government proposed to Maharshtra government to construct the Pranahitha project with the height of 148 meters but not taken a final decision in this regard. He said final decision will be taken in a meeting between the Chief Ministers of Telangana and Maharashtra. (NSS)
