Housing & Endowment Minister A Indrakaran Reddy today criticized the Opposition parties for indulging in politicizing development of holy temples. The minister clarified that salaries of the Archakas and employees which were stalled due to technical reasons will be given soon.
Hyderabad: Addressing the media at the Secretariat here today, the minister politely chided the Congress party for resorting to level baseless accusations against the temples development and welfare in the State. In the past 70 years, the Congress and the Telugu Desam Governments never bothered to develop the temples in the Telangana region, he charged. “The two governments, he said, simply ignored the plight of the Archakas and staff of the temples which need a thorough overhaul. Now the TRS Government was spending huge funds for temples’ development besides hiking salaries of the archakas and staff he claimed.
Vemulawada Raja Rajeshwara Temple is being developed on par with Yadadri Temple the minister said. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has allotted Rs 400 cr for developing this temple he said. The officials were instructed to complete the rest of the works of Rs 238 cr as per schedule he said.
The government is for protecting the culture and traditions of the state. Indrakaran Reddy said that offering salaries for the Archakas and staff was delayed only due to technical reasons. The officials are on the job to rectify the problem and the salaries will be given without any further delay, he said. The minister also said that the eligible Archakas and employees of the temples will be given salaries.
