Stop making nonsensical statements, BJP tells Digvijay

New Delhi, September 29: BJP today attacked Congress leader Digvijay Singh for his statement that it should “realise 2010 is not 1992” and practice restraint, saying he should not make “irresponsible comments” and stay within limits of propriety.

“On the one hand, the government appeals for peace (after the Ayodhya verdict) and on the other hand, some Congress leaders like Digvijay Singh make sympathetic statements on Naxals and have been in the news for favouring terrorists,” BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said.

The Lok Sabha MP alleged that at times even the Congress finds it difficult to “rein in” Singh and warned that he should not make comments which lead to a “breach of peace”.

“He has held a responsible post once.
