Stop Demolition Or Face Movement– Sarve Warns TRS Govt

Former Union Minister Sarve Satyanraaya today flayed the TRS Government for targeting a section of people in Hyderabad and bulldozing their buildings in the name of illegal structures.

Talking to press persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, the former minister warned that they will take up a movement against the government if it continues to demolish the structures. The TRS has promised to protect all people and their assets irrespective of their origin, he said. But now, on coming to power, the government seems to be adopting vengeful attitude, he alleged.

Satyanarayana found fault with the Government for resorting to needless enthusiasm to demolish ‘illegal’ structures. Instead, the Government should regularise the structures and protect the interests of all people. It is just a meaningless act what the Government is doing now, he lamented. The Previous governments used to regularise structures if they were illegal. What is wrong in regularising the structures by collecting penalty which will fetch income to GHMC, he asked. The Government cannot retaliate on some structures in and around twin cities, the former minister said.

When asked, he said that he will suggest to the Congress High Command not to replace Telangana Congress Chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah with any other leader. He rubbished the speculation that there will be a change of guard in the party.
