“Stop corporate monopoly, promote small industries”: Kanhaiya Kumar

Hyderabad: Former President of Students’ Union of JNU, Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar while addressing a gathering on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday told that in the present day context, people are working against the social media. He made a reference Mahatma Gandhi’s three principles, “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”, he said that had Gandhiji been alive today, he would have certainly said, “Don’t like evil, Don’t share evil, Don’t commit evil”. He regretted that the younger generation is getting affected through the negative effects of racialism. Citing the example of mobile phone cameras, he said that the first generation got affected with its negative effects and the second generation made an effort to eradicate these evil effects whereas the third generation is making best use of it.

He told that the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi is being tarnished with bullets. Democracy is facing danger. It is very regrettable that on the occasion of 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, the agitating farmers were beaten up. Had Gandhiji been alive today, he would have certainly supported the farmers. He said that Modi has no sympathy for farmers. Modi is of the opinion that by cleaning the gutters, one can get spiritual satisfaction. If this is true, why can’t Modi get into the gutters and clean it instead of performing Yoga, Kanhaiya said.

He further told that as “everything that glitters is not gold”, in the same manner, every Guajarati is not Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri sacrificed positions to adhere to the principles whereas Modi is safeguarding the interests of capitalists.

Regarding the functioning of Govt., Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar said if a question is asked on Rafael, Finance Minister replies. In the same manner, if a question is asked on Railway System, Textile Minister replies. People are confused who is holding which portfolio. PM has taken the responsibility of Foreign Minister and is making world trips. He waived the loans of the capitalists to the tune of Rs. 3.12 lakh crore but farmers’ loans have not been waived.

Quoting the functioning of Lal Bahadur Shastri, Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar said that he quit the post when railway accident occurred. The present BJP Ministers are not prepared to do so.

He further told that on the occasion of the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, we should resolve to make use of Bapu’s lathi so that communal harmony is maintained, farmers get justice and depressed classes feel satisfied.
