Stop blame game on Babli: Ponguleti to Babu

Hyderabad, August 05: All India Congress Committee secretary Ponguleti Sudhakar on Wednesday advised Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu to stop the ‘blame game’ and politicizing the Babli issue.

Talking to media persons at CLP Media Point on Assembly premises, the senior Congress leader said that all parties should come to a political understanding to solve the inter-state river water sharing dispute. He called upon Mr Naidu to stop the hue and cry over the Babli irrigation project.

The AICC secretary expressed optimism that the Centre would find an amicable solution to the problem after taking all views of both the states involved in the row and from the Central Water Commission.

Reacting on former minister Konda Surekha’s letter to high command that the government failed to implement former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s schemes, he said that she can raise these issues in party meetings instead of before the media.

He said the former minister’s `unwarranted and baseless’ statements would spoil the image of party and send a wrong message to people over the government.

Regretting the comments of leaders on by-election results, Mr Sudhakar said the voters gave the verdict based on the sentiment attached to Telangana. “The Congress has not suffered any damage due to the results,” he said.
