Hyderabad: Situation in Nirmal Town became tense due to stone pelting on Masjid during “Rama Navami” procession which was taken out in the night of 25th March.
According to the report when the procession reached Masjid Gulzar located at Vegetable Market, it was alleged that stones were pelted on the Masjid by miscreants as a result of which the window panes of Masjid got damaged.

On receiving this news, a large number of Muslim youths assembled at the masjid. They started protesting for taking stern action against the miscreants.
Meanwhile, Addl. SP, Mr. Dakshina Murthy got injured after which police resorted to lathicharge and used tear gas shells to disperse both the groups. This action of the police created unrest among the residents of Nirmal. Police got alert and posted additional policemen at sensitive areas.
District SP, Mr. Varier also reached the spot and camped near the Masjid till late at night. He assured the Muslim youths that stern action would be taken against the miscreants. Police patrolling increased.
It may be mentioned that the procession ends at a temple which is located near Masjid Gulzar at Vegetable Market.
