Stern action for violating fire safety rules

Govt. of A.P warned that stern action will be taken against all those educational institutions, industries, hospitals, commercial malls and buildings who violate fire safety rules. The Govt. has taken the steps in view of increasing fire accidents in the state.

A meeting was held in Secretariat yesterday under the chairmanship of Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, C.M. of A.P. to review the functioning of Fire Service Department and A.P. State Disaster Response.

The meeting was attended by Ms. Sabeetha Indra Reddy, Home Minister, Mr Maheedhar Reddy, Minister for Municipal Administration, Ms, Mini Mathew, Chief Secretary, Ms. Chaya Ratan, Special Chief Secretary (Home) Mr. V, Bhasker Reddy, Principal Secretary (Finance)Mr. Vivek Durbey, Director General of Disaster Response and Fire Services, Mr B. Sam Buls, Principal Secretary (Municipal Administration), Mr. M. Krishna Babu (Municipal Commissioner) Mr. Radhakrishna(Disaster Management), Mr. C.R Biswal , Principal Secretary , Industries and other higher officials.

Govt. sources indicated that C.M, has instructed the officials of Fire Service and Disaster Response to ensure that all public places and exhibition managers to follow fire safety rules strictly. He instructed the officials of industries , municipal administration, fire service, school education, factories and other departments to take steps for preventing fire accidents. He also instructed the officials to issue notices to hospitals, schools, factories and buildings to follow fire safety rules scrupulously. He told them to impose fines in case they violate these rules.
