Hyderabad: The Telangana State Government is seriously considering strengthen Anganwadi Centers, said Roads and Buildings Minister, Tummala Nageshwar Rao.
He held a review meeting of Women and Child Welfare department at NAC and discussed on strengthening the Anganwadi centers in the state. Speaking to reporters on the occasion, the minister accused the Centre of denying funds to the State towards the scheme for the past nine months. He said that the government is committed to resolve the problems of the Angawadi Centers to provide better health facilities to the poor women and children.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is keen on steering them in a right direction to serve the purpose, Nageshwar Rao stated. TRS Government is ready to take necessary steps to help these centers to make them fully equipped with facilities. As many as 37,000 Centers are working in Telangana state and the credit goes to the TRS administration for maintaining them, he claimed. No other state in India has such a great number of Anganwadi centers, he said. (NSS)
