Deputy Chief Minister Mohd Mahamood Ali today said the State government will protect the Wakf lands all over the State.
Along with Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy, Ali distributed cheques amounting to Rs 93 lakh to masjid committees towards the repairs and works of 196 mosques in the State. He said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was giving equal priority to all religions and started residential schools (Gurukuls) for Muslims to bring change in their lives through education.
Narsimha Reddy said the TRS Government was offering secular rule and giving top priority to all festivals and rituals. The welfare schemes were formed to ensure that every family was benefited, he said, adding that Shadi Mubarak scheme provides a lot of help to the poor Muslimis.
Hyderabad District Collector Yogitha Rana said 50 per cent of funds released out of Rs 1.87 crore sanctioned in first phase for repairs of 196 mosques out of 305 identified. She said the State government released Rs 2 crore for offering training and skills for the youth to get jobs in future. (NSS)
