Alleging that previous governments had neglected agriculture sector, Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy has initiated steps to celebrate agriculture as a festival.
Participating in ‘Mana Telangana—Mana Vyavasayam’ program here on Tuesday, Pocharam said the TRS government would make the farmers to reduce use of chemical fertilizers and would also encourage them to use natural manure. Stating that the credit of supplying quality power with Rs 15,000 crore goes to TRS government, Pocharam said the government was encouraging SC, ST farmers by giving 100 percent subsidy. The subsidy increase esd encouraging green house cultivation, he said, adding that the government was encouraging DWKRA women by extending loans to them.
The minister said the government will make the farmers understand all techniques of cultivation in ‘Mana Telangana-Mana Vyavasayam’ program. He assured the farmers that the government was striving to see that the farmers do not suffer losses in agriculture. He said the government instilled confidence among the farmers by waiving off their loans as per assurance made by it. (NSS)
