Step motherly treatment towards Urdu writers by HSL

Hyderabad, April 15: Though the Andhra Pradesh state claims the promotion and development of Urdu language but it also plays a role in undermining the Urdu language the clear prove of this can be had from the step motherly treatment given by Hyderabad State Library.

Raja Ram Mohan Rai Trust purchases atleast 30 Urdu books annually from the state library. This year too the notification was issued as usual.

It was obligatory for writers and publishers to send 4 books to public libraries of Calcutta, Madras, Mumbai and Delhi. Besides that 2 books were to be handed over to Registrar of publications.

After all this procedure orders were issued to purchase 250 books of Telugu writers and only 7 books of Urdu writers.

Allama Aijaz Farruq declaring this as step motherly treatment towards Urdu said that the amount collected after the sale of 7 books would be far lesser than the expenses incurred in the whole procedure.
