Step up to make that difference, youth urged

Hyderabad, July 29: In a country where the average age of the population is below 25 years, the youth have a very significant role to play in driving India forward. Focusing on how the youth of India can make a difference, the Passionate Foundation organised a panel discussion with well-known guests and students at the Mariott. One of the guests, Christine Lazarus, nominated MLA felt that it was important for the youngsters to have their own style rather than ape someone. “The youth can make a major difference to the country, hence the second-rung leadership can be filled in by the youth. I have urged the Chief Minister to set up a youth commission. I have also demanded the involvement of youth in every ministry,” she said.

The speakers felt that the youth should have a more responsible approach towards society as they can be the pioneers of the nation. Chaitanya, Founder- Secretary, Passionate Foundation observed, “New technologyrelated revolution can be felt everywhere. In the US, the youth are being lured by rebranding the public sector. Even in India, a new face of government service is needed to attract youth.” Karuna Gopal, president, Foundation for Futuristic Studies was of the opinion that youth can step in to bring about social transformation. Informing that India is still the capital for suicides, heart and diabetic-related ailments, she advised, “The youth have an advantage of working in wide areas of development.

Knowledge and information sharing within the youngsters is the field where a remarkable difference can be made.” The audience comprised of students as well as teachers of various institutions. Later, an interactive session was arranged between the panelists and the students.
