Steenkamp’s friend says Pistorius’ family ‘intimidated’ people during trial

Oscar Pistorius’ girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp’s friend has alleged that his relatives “intimidated” people at the killer’s trial.

According to The Mirror, her friend Marc Batchelor said that Pistorius’ family was hostile in court and stared people down. He also said that the double amputee’s 27-year-old sister, Aimee, acted like the victim but stared at everybody.

Pistorius had shot Steenkamp dead on Valentine’s Day last year and had maintained that he mistook her for an intruder in his Pretoria home.

The high-profile seven-month trial finally concluded with the paralympic runner being jailed for five years for culpable homicide. However, he will be eligible to apply to serve the rest of his sentence under house arrest after 10 months.
