The Andhra Pradesh High Court has stayed the digital broadcasting system.
There is relief to TV viewers from the compulsory set top boxes for one week. The digitisation was made compulsory in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam from April 1, but due to shortage of set top boxes the process was not complete.
Many TVs went silent in the twin cities and Visakhapatnam since Monday afternoon.
Following a PIL, the High Court stayed the process for one week to enable all customers to equip their TV sets with set top boxes. The court also directed the police not to take any action against the MSOs. (INN)
