Statehood credit goes to all T people: KCR ‘Govt wedded to uplift SCs, STs & Minorities’

An elated Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao today showered praise on the huge turnout TRS activists saying they are backbone of the party, who fought tirelessly until the statehood was achieved.
Addressing the mammoth first plenary of the party packed to capacity at LB Stadium after being elected president for the eighth consecutive term, KCR attributed the Telangana statehood to their determination and sacrifices. “Of course, despite all odds, TRS activists fought from street level to Delhi level for the separate State”, he recalled. Exhorting the activists not to relent until the goal of golden Telangana was achieved, the party supremo said the government would extend them all possible assistance. Though some parties ridiculed them on the possibility of achievement of statehood for Telangana, the TRS government hoisted tri-colour at the historic Golconda fort, besides announcing Bathukamma and Bonalu as State festivals, he stated.
Accusing the Congress, Telugu Desam and BJP of deceiving people and ignoring Dalits, beedi workers and minorities in the State, KCR claimed his government was paying Rs 1,500 pension for beedi workers and physically handicapped and Rs 1,000 to old aged and widows in the State.
Giving a pat to Finance Minister Etela Rajender for implementing the fine rice scheme, the Chief Minister said the government allocated Rs 3,000 crore for implementing the scheme. He also said Rs 6 a kg fine rice for each person of a family will help feed poor with square meal a day. He also criticized previous governments for suppressing Anganwadi workers for seeking a hike in salaries. However, the TRS Government immediately announced salary hike and paying them Rs 7,000 and Rs 4,500 to Ayahs, he said.
“We have appointed artistes as cultural ambassadors, who should not stop singing, dancing and beating drums until Telangana was transformed into a Golden State”. He attributed the commitment of the State government for launching the prestigious Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes under which Rs 51,000 assistance was being paid to the poor Dalit and Minorities’ girls. Asserting that the TRS Government is committed to Dalit empowerment, KCR said they have so far distributed 2,400 acres (three acres to a person) among chosen SCs in the State and the program will continue till all the eligible are covered under the scheme.
