Hyderabad, August 6: The Urdu language faces degeneration instead of promotion in the state due to the step motherly treatment meted out by Andhra Pradesh state towards it. The Andhra Pradesh State Urdu Academy, an institution which has been established with an aim to preserve, promote and develop Urdu language, has always been ignored by the government with regard to provision of grant. With the attitude meted out by the government towards Urdu academy it seems as if the state government feels the Andhra Pradesh Urdu Academy as a burden.
No permanent director secretary has been appointed for Urdu academy during the past 3 years. This post is being additionally given to such officials who are already performing their duties on other posts. They are mostly engaged in their own duties so they can’t take out time for additional responsibilities.
