Hyderabad, June 27: The government has released Rs 209 crore towards fee reimbursement scheme today. This amount also includes fee reimbursement to the category-B students of MBBS.
According to various orders, it has released Rs 20 crore for the Tribal Welfare department, Rs 60 crore to Social Welfare department and Rs 125 crore to BC Welfare department.
The government released Rs 4.3 crore for MBBS category-B students who joined in 2008-09 academic year. The release has become inevitable as the High Court ordered the government to release the amount.
When students were admitted to MBBS courses in 2008-09, category-A students were given fee reimbursement facility. However, the Vice Chancellor of NTR Health University had assured that even the B category students would also get the facility.
However, the government did not release the amount. With this the students moved the High Court, which responded in their favour. The government stated that the fee reimbursement to MBBS category-B would apply only for the students of 2008-09 academic year.
