Thiruvantapuram, February 18: The State Government has decided to separate Tourist Resort Kerala from Kerala Tourism Development Corporation. It will be made a new company named Kerala Tourism Infrastructure and Investment Limited Company, Chief Minister V.S.Achuthanandan told reporters after the cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
PLANTATION: The Chief Minister said that the cabinet had approved a revision of the pay scales of the employees of the Plantation Corporation of Kerala on par with the pay scales of government employees revised in 2006.
Financial Assistance: The cabinet also decided to give a financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the kin of lyricist Girish Puthencherry, who died recently. An amount of Rs 1 lakh will be given for the treatment of music director M.G.Radhakrishnan.
Creation of Posts: New posts of 91 cooks will be created in pre-metric hostels coming under the Scheduled Tribes Department.
Akshaya: The cabinet also approved a one-time settlement scheme for Akshaya entrepreneurs of Malappuram district in consultation with the banks. As per the scheme, only 75 percent of the principal amount has to be repaid. The Government will provide half the amount for payment. This would mean that the entrepreneur has to pay only 37.55 percent of the principal amount, he said.
Appointment: Industries additional secretary C.S.Sreenivasan has been appointed as the new National Games special officer and Sports Director.
