Roads and Buildings Minster B Dharmana Prasad on Wednesday informed the State Legislative Assembly that the on-going works for the construction of new roads across the State would be completed soon.
Replying to a question raised by CPM floor leader J Ranga Reddy during Question Hour, the minister said that about 123 kilometers of roads in Nalgonda on the Huzurabad-Nakrekal-Miryalguda stretch has been completed. Further, the proposal to widen the roads in Miryalguda is presently under scrutiny. They will be taken up subject to the availability of plan budget for capital works in future, he said.
In his reply to another question, Dharmana Prasad denied allegations of having regional bias for the construction of roads under the NABARD schemes. He said about 33 per cent of metal roads in Telangana region have been constructed with NABARD’s assistance. So far, about 720 km of roads have been constructed with the NABARD’s financial assistance. Separate schemes would be implemented for the construction of roads in tribal areas. (INN)
