Endowment Minister C Ramachandraiah on Sunday informed that the State Government was planning to take up the repair and revival of old temples across the State at a large scale.
Talking to media persons after inaugurating the Panchayat office at G Reddyvaripalle in Sunduvalli mandal here, he said that the State Government was making all efforts to revive the old and historical temples in the State. He said old and dilapidated temples across the State would be revamped in order to restore their past glory.
Stating that the government has already released Rs 7 crore in the district to revive the temples, he said that the government was ready to bear 80 percent of expenditure if any philanthropists come forward to spend 20 per cent of the amount for the construction of temples. He said that there was no paucity of funds for the revival of temples and the government was committed to protect all ancient heritage temples.
He said that the government has increased the amount for the construction of Rama temples in Dalit and Girijan areas from Rs one lakh to Rs 3 lakh.
