State Govt will bear the expenditure on Swine Flu

Based on the suggestions from the central team, the government decided to bear the expenditure for testing samples at the Institute of Preventive Medicine. Patients admitted to private hospitals have been paying Rs 3,500 for each sample.

A 19-year-old woman reportedly died and 15 more tested positive for swine flu.Against this backdrop, a team of four-member, on the request of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, met with health department officials and visited the Gandhi hospital. According to sources ‘the team members expressed their dismay over the pathetic conditions at the hospital.

The central Govt directed the state to bear the Expenditures on Swine flu tests. However the officials clarified that samples of only in-patients will be tested free of cost.

The central team included Ashok Kumar, Additional Director General, Public Health, Government of India, Shashi Khare, Head (microbiology), and National Centre for Disease Control, Dr Pradeep Kumar and Dr Pranay. , said that the State Govt will indulge the all preventive measure to control the flow of Swine flu.
