State Govt optional holiday on April 7, instead of April 6

The State Government has declared April 7 (Saturday) as Optional Holiday on the occasion of ‘Hzt. Syed Mohd. Juvanpuri Mahdi Ma’ud (AS)’, instead of April 6(Friday), declared earlier.

According to a GO issued by the Chief Secretary to the Government Pankaj Dwivedi, the Government has earlier issued orders declaring April 6 (Friday) as Optional Holiday on the occasion of ‘Hzt. Syed Mohd. Juvanpuri Mahdi Ma’ud (AS)’. But the President of Markazi Anjuman-e-Mahdavia has informed the Government that the birth anniversary of ‘Hzt. Syed Mohd. Juvanpuri Mahdi Ma’ud (AS) has fallen on 14th Jamadiul-awwal as per Hijri calendar corresponding to April 7, 2012 and therefore, requested to declare Optional Holiday on April 7 (Saturday) instead of April 6 declared by the Government earlier. The Chief Executive Officer of Andhra Pradesh State Wakf Board, has also recommended to declare April 7, instead of April 6 as Optional Holiday on the occasion of ‘Hzt. Syed Mohd. Juvanpuri Mahdi Ma’ud (AS)’, as per Hijri Calendar.

The Government, after careful consideration of the matter, has decided to change the Optional Holiday from April 6 to April 7 on the occasion of ‘Hzt. Syed Mohd. Juvanpuri Mahdi Ma’ud (AS)’. (NSS)
