Hyderabad, June 18: As many as 51 senior IAS officers were reshuffled in a single go by the State government on Wednesday, as part of an exercise to get its team of officers to improve the delivery system by effectively implementing various developmental and welfare schemes.
At least a half of the senior officers heading departments in the Secretariat have been shifted, but those dealing with Irrigation have not been disturbed.
Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy is likely to continue this team during his second term with a view to stabilising the various projects and consolidate the gains of his flagship programme, Jalayagnam.
Orders for transfer of the officers were issued after the Chief Minister held lengthy discussions with his aide K. V. P. Ramachandra Rao, advisor, Public Affairs.
