State gears up to meet post-Dec. 31 unrest

Hyderabad, December 27: As the time for submission of report by the Justice B N Sri Krishna Committee is fast approaching, the State government is gearing up to put in place all requisite arrangements to face any eventuality.

It was stated that some 50 companies of Central forces have been brought into the State for deployment in the volatile areas. It was also learnt that orders have been received for deployment of 23 companies in Hyderabad and two companies each in eight other Telangana districts. The Cyberabad Police Commissioner, Mr Prabhakar Reddy, said that L.B Nagar, Uppal, Kukatpally and Osmania University campus in the city were identified as sensitive spots and was decided to put in place additional forces in these areas.

Besides, eight districts in the Coastal area were also identified as sensitive places and two companies of Central forces each would be deployed there to face any untoward eventuality.
